Whoa, time flies and my site is really out of
date.
I have a plan to replace
this site with something newer, shinier and a responsive design, so it will look just as good on your tablet and smartphone as your computer. I just need to get some time to do it after the holidays and work being very, very busy.
At the beginning of August, I joined Havas
Life Toronto (then known as Euro RSCG Life), where I planned the
deployment of 15 iPads to our staff and held an orientation meeting where I handed them out like I was Oprah giving away cars.
To help a client promote a major milestone, I
coded HTML emails and the pages with video players they linked to. The pages
detect the browser and platform of the device in use and serve up video in the appropriate format
and quality for the network connection. The client was very happy with the
result and although I felt a little overwhelmed at the
beginning, I was very pleased with what I had to learn in order to make a video play on any device. It was a confidence builder for sure.
I preached the benefits of User Experience and gave a Keynote presentation that explained the practice and proposed how a UX Designer could help projects. Wireframes became requirements for projects where previously, only site
maps were created. All that and now we're using Basecamp and wondering how we lived without it. We've come a long way in six months!
Anything else? Hmmm. Created a
podcast to deliver video content, set up web hosting so we can test ideas for projects, edited a video reel of our new work that is displayed on the TV that I mounted in our new digital lab. Huge variety of work.
So, that’s why I haven’t finished my new site. ;)
